Solid gold jewellery is generally hallmarked with a karat stamp. Gold jewellery is not pure gold. Because pure gold is too soft to be worn everyday, it is essential to create a metal mixture when using gold for jewellery. Gold is an alloy composition made of gold and durable metals like zinc, nickel, silver and copper, and white gold usually has a rhodium plating. This sturdy blend is resistant to corrosion, rust and tarnish.

Handcrafted in our Sydney Studio on Dharawal Country, from recycled silver and responsibly sourced gemstones, the metal used in these earrings is melted down and hand poured into a mould so that the stones are cast into place, not set. This process of sand casting, or Delft clay casting results in one-of-a-kind fine jewellery pieces. Due to the nature of this process, the stone colour, placement, texture and finish of each piece will be unique. That’s the beauty of buying made to order, handmade jewellery!
