Our Sustainable Practices include keeping our jewellery production in-house and predominately onshore, offering reusable product packaging and working towards creating a business that benefits the planet and all people.

"The term was first coined by author, design activist, and professor Kate Fletcher. She defines slow fashion as quality-based rather than time-based. Other slow fashion pioneers note that the movement encourages slower production, unifies sustainability with ethics, and ultimately invites consumers to invest in well-made and lasting fashion items. While slow, ethical, and sustainable fashion all describe efforts towards an aspirational goal—rethinking our relationship to clothes & accessories—slow fashion combines a brand’s practices with a customer’s shopping habits."

Reusable Product Packaging

Our jewellery comes carefully packaged in a microfibre pouch, inside a branded Zoë Alexandria cardboard box. We decided to adopt a 'one size fits all' approach in order to limit unnecessary packaging. So whether you order 1 item or 10, you will receive your jewellery inside one pouch that fits into one box. We recommend you use this packaging to keep your jewels safe when you're not wearing them. 

When it comes to sending our pieces to you, we use biodegradable packaging so as to reduce the production of single use plastics.

We choose to ship with Australia Post. The delivery of every parcel sent is recognised as carbon neutral as a result of the purchase of carbon offset credits to match the environmental impact.

Handmade Practices

From the moment you place your order with Zoë Alexandria Jewellery, you can trust that your new jewellery piece will be lovingly handcrafted with purpose and intent. It takes time for each item to be created especially for you (good things come to those who wait, remember?) and this is why we anticipate a 10-14 day timeframe before carefully packaging and shipping your coveted handmade jewellery. You can read more about our Handmade Practices here.

In-house Production

The majority of our jewellery is produced in-house, to help reduce our footprint. When an item cannot be fully completed in our studio, we outsource to our trusted suppliers.

Some of our one-of-a-kind or bespoke items are crafted by independent Master Jewellers, who are located outside of our studio. 

Studio Practices

We are not perfect! But we are trying to make all the right choices so that Zoë Alexandria Jewellery is creating ethical and sustainable fine jewellery. We use recycled materials where we can and we try to limit our waste (from home composting scraps from the kitchen, to making sure single use plastics and empty gas bottles are recycled appropriately). We are continuously building on our sustainability practices and we welcome any feedback or suggestions that you, as our customer, may have.
